Stamford IT offers advice on the purchase of computers and computer-related products and participates in campus wide negotiated special pricing with Apple, HP, Lenovo etc. Software and hardware support are available for faculty, staff, and students from a central IT Service Desk. A variety of tools and services are available for technical support staff to centrally manage desktop computers using automated processes.

In cooperation with the Office of Procurement., Stamford IT participates in campus wide agreement negotiations and special-to-Stamford product and bundles selection.

Full-time employees receive University allocated laptops for the duration of their tenure. Additional equipment (laptops, mobile devices etc.) may also be checked out temporarily. For details, please refer to Laptop Allocation and Checkout.

On-demand Help / Support

The Stamford IT Help Desk is the University’s central support service for IT, especially in the areas of systems trouble, network connectivity, and the use of supported desktop applications. The Help Desk teams provide multi-tiered support to faculty, staff, and students: an attempt to resolve problems or answer questions rapidly or, if quick resolution is not appropriate or achievable, assignment to a consultant for in-depth assistance.

Endpoint / Server Configuration Management

Microsoft’s System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM) protects your computers with automatic security updates for operating systems and other popular software.

Remote Support

The IT Services team at Stamford International University provides the option of expedited remote troubleshooting to it’s end-users via the remote assistance software named TeamViewer. This service is solely available to the members of the University community.
